Watching a loved one suffer through any disease or illness is difficult. Besides the obvious toll on the actual person with the illness, his or her family and friends also suffer. For those loved ones, helplessness and despair become their daily cries.
This is a tragedy that most of us will be made to bear witness to at some point in our lives.

Of all the various maladies that can strike however, few are as dreadful for a loved-one looking in as Alzheimer's.

This book is not intended to offer medical advice. I am not a doctor, nor have I had any medical training. I am merely a daughter who watched, lived through, and tried to help my mother through Alzheimer's disease from its early stages until God took her home in 1993.
Because I've Been There chronicles my experience.

   It offers practical daily helps and insights that will make the day to day 
   stresses more bearable. Each page is an easy to read, simply stated separate
   thought. It tells you how leaning on God's strength brought me through as it 
   can also bring you through.

It is my prayer that God will use this book, the words on these pages, to bring comfort and strength to those who read them. I hope that they will keep you from making some of the mistakes I made.
