Hector Fleming Miller and Mamie Elizabeth Glover were married in 1944. The author, Agnes M.
Murner is their second daughter. Born in Melbourne, Fla, she was raised in Fla and GA. She has lived in the North
Metro Atlanta area over 30 years.
Agnes' immediate family includes:
A son, Timothy Murner, and his wife Dani,
their children Macy, Grace and Reagan
Her daughter Tammy Dunn,
her children Sebastian and Hunter
She enjoys being with her children, grandchildren, extended family, church family and
friends. Agnes loves animals, currently having two dogs, two cats, and three birds.
She especially enjoys the outdoors, hiking, camping or just having the family in her
own backyard. She has a deep love for music, often using songs to draw close to God.
When there is time, she enjoys reading, working puzzles, and crocheting. Her strong
Christian faith has carried her through the tough times in life, and is reflected in her
writing.
Agnes' sister and her husband, Barbara & Jerry have six children and 12 grandchildren.
Barbara & Agnes were raised by loving, caring parents, both of which would gladly do
anything to help anybody. Their father, Hector went home to be with the Lord in 1974,
after a battle with lung cancer. He derived a lot of pleasure from the grandchildren
who were born during his lifetime.
Their mother, Mamie, loved having the family visit. She had a bond with all of the
grandchildren, each being special in their own way. She developed Alzheimer’s disease
late in life. The worst part, to her, was knowing that she would soon forget those she
loved so. But when she could no longer remember, their love for her continued, as it
will forever.
With Jerry in the military, Agnes was her mother's caregiver during the last of her life.
Although it was a heartbreaking time, it was a privilege that Agnes will forever be
thankful she was blessed to have. It was because of that time, and the experience
derived from it, that God impressed on her to write Because I've Been There, and Because
Ministries was born. She has a deep passion to help those suffering from dementia, by
helping their loved ones and caregivers better understand what is happening, offering
ways to cope, ways to help the Alzheimer’s patient retain their dignity & feel useful,
their lives as fulfilled as possible. She eventually felt led of God for Because
Ministries to become her full time vocation, and now spends her time promoting Because
I've Been There, and speaking.
Her second book, an inspirational encouragement to those seeking direction in their lives,
is 'floating around in her head', to be put on paper probably towards the end of 2008.
